As we recognize Black History Month, I want to begin by acknowledging the difficult times many of us are experiencing across the organization. We are navigating painful layoffs and carrying the weight of uncertainty together. I want you to know that your resilience, compassion and continued commitment to patient care do not go unseen.
Amidst these difficult times, it’s important we acknowledge Black History Month because Black history is American history. For a safety-net health system like AHS, it is deeply connected to who we serve and why we exist.
