Alameda Health System Foundation (AHSF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose vital purpose is to cultivate funds and community support for Alameda Health System (AHS). As the fundraising arm of AHS, the Foundation strives to support health system initiatives that reduce health disparities and barriers to access, and to ensure quality care for all in Alameda County.
Over the past 25 years, the Foundation has raised millions of dollars in support of AHS’s mission of Caring, Healing, Teaching, Serving All. The philanthropic investment that comes from foundations, corporations, community organizations, and individuals help fund equipment, programs, and services that help ensure the delivery of high quality care to everyone in need.
Our mission at Alameda Health System Foundation is to cultivate community support and funding for essential programs and services of Alameda Health System (AHS). Our efforts are aligned with AHS’s mission of Caring, Healing, Teaching, Serving All.
The funds we raise support programs and services that improve access and quality of care, reduce health disparities, and improve health and quality of life. At the bottom line, we strive to help AHS achieve its vision of “health equity” in Alameda County.

Foundation special events are an opportunity for all community members to come together in support of its mission of Investing in Caring, Healing, Teaching, Serving All. The events are a time to highlight specific departments or programs at AHS and raise necessary funds for equipment, program support, or special initiatives.
Proceeds contribute to the Foundation’s Annual Fund. These unrestricted funds are designated to the programs and services of greatest need at AHS.
The Annual Gala is an elegant affair that recognizes key clinicians for their work and commitment to patient care and features a cocktail reception, seated dinner, awards program, live and silent auctions, and an after party.
From shootouts and hole-in-one contests to complimentary refreshments on course, the Annual Golf Classic “Play Fore Caring” attracts AHS executives, business leaders, and healthcare professionals alike. Guests enjoy playing an 18-hole course at one of the East Bay’s finest golf courses, dinner, and networking.
The Foundation’s Associate Board, a group of emerging leaders in the Bay Area, hosts events throughout the year designed with the young professional in mind. Proceeds from the events support a variety of initiatives at the health system.
Foundation support—drawing on help from the corporate level, through personal and family gifts, and from a basic willingness to help our community—has proven its worth as a means of making the best care available to all.
