This year, our Black Employees Affinity Network or BEAN hosted a Backyard Boogie at Fairmont Hospital, to commemorate Juneteenth and celebrate Black culture, community and honor our legacy of courage, perseverance, and hope.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Let’s take a look at a photo slideshow of the event.
