CARF Recognizes Fairmont Acute Rehabilitation for Excellence in Hospital Care and Care of Stroke Patients

International organization issues prestigious three-year accreditation based on dedication and commitment to quality of patient lives

Oakland, Calif. — Sept. 25, 2017 — Alameda Health System, a leading public health care provider, today announced the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International has accredited AHS Fairmont Acute Rehabilitation for two Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs focusing on adult hospital care and adult stroke specialty care.

CARF issued a three-year accreditation to the two Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs at the San Leandro facility for illustrating “dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives” of the patients they serve. AHS underwent a rigorous peer review process and demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable and accountable. The accreditation is valid through August 31, 2020.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body that monitors the quality, value and effectiveness of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. Founded in 1966, CARF establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.
