
Greg Garrett, MPH, is the Chief Operating Officer at Native American Health Center; a Federally Qualified Health Center in Oakland, CA. NAHC provides Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health and Community Wellness services to its 15,000 members. Greg is an equity-minded public health professional with more than twenty years of health care strategy, operations, finance, and policy experience.
Greg oversees operations at NAHC’s sixteen (16) sites located in Alameda, San Francisco and Contra Costa Counties, including eight (8) School-Based Health Centers. During his extensive career, Greg has developed and overseen operating budgets of $60 million, and agencies employing 300+ staff. Greg has been a healthcare executive since 2006, and he previously served as Vice-President of Housing Development for an Oakland-based housing development firm, and Economic Development Division Director for the City of Oakland.
Greg earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from UC Berkeley and a Master of Public Health degree from San Francisco State University. Greg is also a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional; the former Board Chairperson of the California Housing Partnership Corporation; a former Board member of the Alameda County Deputy Sheriff’s Activity League; and, a former Commissioner on the Alameda County Public Health Commission.
