In the interest of public safety to avoid the threatened strike by SEIU, the Alameda Health System Board of Trustees has agreed to engage an outside negotiator to secure a labor contract on behalf of the organization. The Board also agrees with the union that the financial and structural relationship between the health system and Alameda County is not sustainable, and agrees to undertake a good faith process with the Board of Supervisors to consider alternate governance structures. The Board sincerely hopes that all of our loyal and dedicated clinical and non-clinical professionals will continue their exceptional service to the Alameda County community during this ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, especially to those most vulnerable residents who rely on us each day.
