We stand with the Department of Health Care Service’s commitment to building an inclusive and nondiscriminatory health care system that is accessible by all.

In these times of confusion due to differing rules and decisions, we want to reaffirm our commitment to health equity, diversity and inclusion for all of the communities that we serve regardless of their sexual orientation, vulnerabilities or language they speak.

We want those we serve to understand that we stand by our unwavering promise and mission and will continue to serve all with high-quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate care that is accessible to all.

Those we serve should never hesitate to seek care at Alameda Health System because our mission and values are rooted in our commitment to serving everyone.

For these reasons we stand with the Department of Health Care Service’s commitment to building an inclusive and nondiscriminatory health care system that is accessible by all including those who have faced discrimination and marginalization and we will continue to follow state nondiscrimination requirements.

We celebrate the Supreme Court’s ruling that protects the LGBTQ community from job discrimination by expanding the definition of sex to include a person’s sexual orientation and transgender status and will serve all regardless of their sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, ethnic group identification, age, mental disability, physical disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, or sexual orientation.

AHS believes everyone has a right to live healthy and productive lives and reaffirms its commitment to health equity, diversity and inclusion.

We stand with the Department of Health Care Service’s commitment to building an inclusive and nondiscriminatory health care system that is accessible by all.
