Flu season is here. Protect yourself and others by getting the flu vaccine.
Influenza is contagious respiratory illness that can cause mild to severe symptoms. People sick with flu can be out of work or school for a few days and sometimes weeks. A bad case of flu can result in hospitalization or even death.
Pregnant women, the elderly, young children, and those with certain health conditions are at high risk of complications due to flu.
Flu vaccines cannot cause the flu.

Influenza can be life threatening for newborns and pregnant women. Getting flu vaccine during pregnancy helps protect mothers and their newborn from flu.
Flu vaccine is safe for both you and your baby and can be obtained during any trimester. It is recommended to get flu vaccine during pregnancy as soon as the vaccine becomes available.
Help prevent the spread of flu with these tips
- Get a flu vaccine every year
- Wash your hands often and thoroughly
- Cover your cough with a tissue or into your elbow
- Stay home when you are sick
