“Gracias a las parteras y especialistas en lactancia materna, pude der pecho a mi hijo desde el comienzo. Me sentí empoderada y lo hicimos por 10 meses.”

My son, Valentino, is a real miracle. He defied a lot of odds. He’s always very calm. He loves hugs, and we love spending time together.
Centering was a real life-changer for my family and I. I suffered depression during my pregnancy, and a lot of other physical discomforts. I was comfortable enough to share how I was feeling with my caregiver. She was able to give me the right resources to do therapy.
If it wasn’t for Centering, I wouldn’t have shared that. Thankfully, I was able to receive therapy, and the support of other moms, and knowing that it wasn’t just me feeling that way.
I had just moved from Mexico, so I didn’t really have any friends. Through Centering, I was able to connect with a large group of mothers. It gave me a sense of community and belonging.
My midwife, Deborah, was very attentive. All the midwives are very passionate about their care. There’s full-on support. There’s a wonderful team for breastfeeding.

[Thanks to the midwives and lactation specialists, I was able to breastfeed successfully since the beginning. I felt empowered and we did it for 10 months.]
Everybody deserves to have the birth that they want to have, and to be heard. I would tell Latina mothers that they are safe here, their partners are safe here, and their babies are safe here. Your voice will be heard. You will feel very, very empowered.
