It takes a village to raise a kid. And not just your family but people who help outside as well. BElovedBIRTH Black Centering is a group of women centering themselves to show unconditional support, love, wisdom, guidance, to make you feel comfortable about your experience. This is the best thing that anybody could have offered.

Once I enrolled here, they put me in the Black Centering group. I can’t stress enough how much emotional, mental, and physical support they’ve been giving.
I was hearing a lot of stories when I got pregnant about Black women dying in giving birth, or having a lot of complications. Things that just didn’t seem fair. Having this group, listening to other women with these stories, it made me feel comfortable that that wasn’t going to be an issue for me.
My midwife, Jyesha, made me feel very comfortable. I could call her anytime, any day, any night. I really do appreciate her. Highland made me feel really comfortable with just knowing that they would be my support. Not what they felt was best for me, but what I wanted to do, what was best for me.
I was having housing issues. They helped me make sure I had a home when it got time for me to have this baby. They helped me get my car seat, my stroller, a crib for my baby. They made sure that we had everything we needed. They gave me the security to be able to focus on my health at this time. To be in the right mind and not have to be worried about, where am I going to live? Am I going to evicted? Or can I afford certain things for this child?

I’m definitely feeling blessed. I was just telling my doctor the other day that was asking me how I was feeling emotionally, I said, overwhelmed with joy, because I didn’t expect it to feel like this.
