We are pleased to announce that effective today, July 1, 2020, Alameda Health System (AHS) will launch the East Bay Medical Group (EBMG), the physician organization to provide services across the system within Alameda County. The re-branded physician group combines Alameda Health Partners (AHP) and the OakCare Medical Group to strengthen the provider enterprise within a wholly owned subsidiary of AHS starting with almost 300 full time equivalent and services-as-needed employed providers.
This unification is aligned with the AHS vision of becoming an integrated patient centered system that eliminates disparities and optimizes the health of the diverse communities we serve all across Alameda County. This monumental achievement enhances the physician voice as we partner with our Board of Trustees, County leaders, community providers and our outstanding clinical and non-clinical colleagues to promote wellness and deliver valuable, high-quality care.
This milestone was no small task and we are grateful for all those who collaborated and compromised to do what is in the best interest of our patients and our system. EBMG is the product of the arduous work of physician and administrative leaders from both organizations alongside Alameda Health System leaders and with the support and guidance of the AHS Board of Trustees.
We are confident that this new organization will provide the platform on which we can continue to recruit world class providers. This is indeed a moment in time to celebrate this tremendous accomplishment.
Thank you for your commitment and persistence to ensure a sustainable future to ultimately deliver the highest quality care to neighbors, family, and friends throughout Alameda County.
Sincerely,
Delvecchio Finley, AHS,
Chief Executive Officer
Ghassan Jamaleddine, MD
