Flu season has almost always been a predictable part of every winter, but the COVID-19 pandemic changed things. The 2021-2022 flu season was mild when compared to pre-pandemic years, largely due in part to COVID-19 prevention measures.
However, health experts are predicting this 2022-2023 flu season will be severe and getting a flu shot will help protect you, your colleagues, patients and loved ones and can help reduce the burden on our health care system as we continue to respond to COVID-19.
For health care works, including Alameda Health System (AHS) employees and contractors, the flu vaccine is mandatory per order of the Bay Area Health Officials and AHS employees had until November 15 to submit proof of vaccination.
AHS patients who are 12 years old and older, can get their flu vaccine at the following locations either by walking into any of the clinics below or by making an appointment at 510-437-8500.
