Shake up your holiday tradition and give the gift of life at an AHS blood drive!
The American Red Cross is teaming up with Alameda Health System to offer two community blood drives at Alameda Hospital and San Leandro Hospital to help save lives.
Blood donations are needed all year round, but during the holidays demand for blood coincides with lower donations due to vacations, seasonal illnesses, school breaks and severe weather.
San Leandro Hospital’s blood drive is on Tuesday, Dec, 24, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Education Center and Alameda Hospital will host their drive on Thursday, Dec 26, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. in Conference Room A.
The gift of blood is more meaningful than anything found in a store or online, so take a break from the holiday hustle and encourage your friends and family to give blood at these winter holiday blood drives.
Starting Dec 16 through Jan 3, donors will receive a special Red Cross long-sleeved t-shirt while supplies last, so please schedule an appointment by visiting the Red Cross website and use Sponsor Code: ALAMEDA or SLH. Drop-ins are also welcome.
