AHS’s BElovedBIRTH Black Centering Program received a Proclamation from District 5 Board of Supervisor Keith Carson at their Regular Meeting on April 6. The Proclamation was presented in recognition of Black Maternal Health Week and the amazing services the program offers which revolutionizes the approach to maternal care for Black women. Launched in October 2020, the first group of pregnant women who enrolled in BElovedBIRTH Black Centering delivered healthy babies beginning in January 2021. Black Maternal Health Week is being recognized from April 11 to 17, 2021.

Special thanks to the Board of Supervisors for this honor and the Alameda County Public Health Department for their support and belief that we can create a safe space for Black pregnant women to show their true resilience.

Congrats to the entire team!
