Alameda Health System and Anthem Blue Cross Reach Contract Agreement
Alameda Hospital now “in-network” for Anthem Blue Cross members

Oakland, Calif. — April 12, 2018 — Alameda Health System today announced a new contract with Anthem Blue Cross of California at Alameda Hospital.

Beginning May 1, 2018, AHS-Alameda Hospital will be an “In Network” provider for Anthem members, giving those residing in the city of Alameda access to health care close to home.

“We want to thank Anthem members and residents of Alameda for their patience and support during negotiations,” said James Jackson, chief administrative officer, AHS-Alameda Hospital. “Alameda residents have a choice of where they receive health services, and we look forward to providing them with high-quality health care to meet their individual and community health needs close to where they live.”

Alameda Hospital is a full-service facility providing services such as emergency medicine, surgery, cardiac services, orthopedics, gastroenterology, radiology, pharmacy, and wound care through the Creedon Advanced Wound Care clinic.

“We are pleased to welcome Alameda Hospital back in our network,” said John Pickett, Anthem Blue Cross regional vice president, Provider Solutions. “This will allow us to offer our Anthem members access to a broad network of high-quality hospitals and physicians in Northern California.”

Alameda Hospital now has contracts with major insurance carriers including Anthem Blue Cross of California, Blue Shield of California, Health Net, Aetna, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare.
