The East Bay Times reported on AHS's Food Is Medicine program, which tackles food insecurity and delivers nutrition and cooking education to patients at Hayward Wellness. The program works in partnership with Dig Deep Farms to provide access to fresh vegetables and fruits. In addition to the nearly 60 adults and children who attended group medical visits on healthy eating, clinicians at Hayward Wellness handed out over 900 additional prescriptions for fresh produce to patients seen at the center.
