Welcome to the Alameda Health System bargaining update.
AHS and SEIU 1021 General Chapter bargaing teams met on January 17, 2017 to continue negotiations for the contract expiring on March 31, 2017. During this session, SEIU 1021 presented AHS with a comprehensive request for information on a variety of items, including salaries, benefits, differential pay and AHS budgets.
In an effort to continue the progress of the negotiations, AHS presented its first three proposals:
Timekeeping – Establish a process for time and attendance tracking thus improving our ability to calculate hourly employee payroll in a manner that ensures accuracy and ease of use for staff.
Review of Electronic Personnel (H.R.) Files – Update the language regarding review of personnel files to clarify that an employee, alone or accompanied by a Union Representative, shall have the right to review his/her electronic personnel (H.R.) file or authorize his/her Union Representative in writing to conduct such a review. Such inspections shall be arranged in advance with Human Resources.
Electronic Vacant Position Notification – Clarify language regarding notification of vacancies to state that when vacancies occur in positions subject to this MOU, AHS shall notify the Union and make the information available to staff. Posting vacancies electronically on the intranet would fulfill this requirement and provide faster access to the most current open positions at all locations.
