BElovedBIRTH Black Centering is a prenatal care program created so you and your baby have the best chance for a healthy birth.
As an expecting African American person, you deserve a care experience that addresses and prioritizes your unique needs and focuses on you throughout the pregnancy and birthing process. That’s the goal of BElovedBIRTH Black Centering.
African American women experience disproportionate high rates of death and complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Around the country, maternal mortality (illness and problems in birth) is at least four times higher for Black mothers than for White mothers.
We share this not to create concern but to indicate our intention to help you and others giving birth to overcome and thrive in spite of the challenges.
BElovedBIRTH Black Centering in collaboration with community partners believe that birth outcomes and family well-being among Black/African-American families with young children in Alameda County is essential to the future of our communities.
It’s what we strive to provide and what you deserve.
