James E.T. Jackson, MPH
James Jackson is a senior healthcare administrator with over 25 years of experience in the field. James is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Alameda and San Leandro Hospitals, and the Hayward and Eastmont Wellness Centers, members of Alameda Health System. As CAO Mr. Jackson has full responsibility for the successful operation and delivery of excellent patient care. He is charged with defining, developing and implementing strategic initiatives consistent with the mission and strategic vision of the AHS.
Prior to this role, Mr. Jackson was a Support Services Assistant Administrator with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in the Diablo Service Area where he was responsible for all support services at the facilities, including engineering, security, clinical technology, nutrition, environmental services, environmental health and safety and materials management.
Before joining Kaiser, Mr. Jackson served as the Chief Operating Officer at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, California where he functioned as backup for the hospital’s President/CEO. He was responsible for operational leadership at Saint Francis, including all ancillary and support service departments, as well as ambulatory care, risk management, compliance and medical staff administration.
Prior to joining Saint Francis, Mr. Jackson held several positions at Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, California, where he ultimately served as Vice President of Ancillary and Support Services. Mr. Jackson has also served in the United States Navy.
Mr. Jackson holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of California in Berkeley and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
