Alameda Health System is much more than one of the foremost providers of health care for the East Bay Area – So much more.
At AHS, we’ve also woven into the tapestry of our richly diverse community – We not only work and heal here, we live, play and worship, making a difference in ways big and small.
That’s why we’re happy and excited to give back to our community, through active involvement in activities ranging from athletic events to fundraisers to health fairs to educational and business functions.
AHS, for example, sponsors the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. It’s a major participant in walks supporting the United Negro College Fund, NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness), the American Diabetes Association, and efforts to fight AIDS and breast cancer.
We help care for community residents from infancy through the senior years with our Baby Friendly Celebration and through the annual World Breastfeeding Week, Give Kids a Smile events, and injury prevention and healthy living activities.
Add to that various career, civic, philanthropic and governmental functions and you’ll get an idea of AHS’s contributions to keeping our community vibrant and on the move. We have a strong connection to the people and places we serve, and we’re proud to offer our support.
